Dr. Prof. Chin-Hsung Kao became the ninth president of Nanhua University on May 8, 2024. He is currently also the chairman of the Asia-Pacific Tchoukball Federation and the chairman of the Taiwan Health Movement Alliance. Prof. Kao was previously the Director-General of the Sports Administration at the Ministry of Education, and the former President of the National Taiwan Sport University. He is the recipient of the ‘Distinguished Civil Service Award’ from the Executive Yuan, the ‘Research Excellence Award’ from the National Science Council, and the ‘Outstanding International Alumni Award’ from Indiana University, U.S.A. During Prof. Kao’s tenure as vice president of Nanhua University, he strived to advocate for Venerable Master Hsing-Yun’s sports philosophy, and to harness the impact of sports to inspire positive change. Prof. Kao had previously traveled to the University of the West in Los Angeles to evaluate the feasibility of sending baseball players from Nanhua University to further their careers in the U.S. He’d also visited Nuremberg in Germany to participate in the Continental Steering Committee (CSC) of Organics International in preparation for the 2024 Organic World Congress to be held at the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Prof. Kao humbly accepts the appointment as the President of Nanhua University by the Board of Trustees to fulfil Venerable Master Hsing-Yun’s aspirations to bring about a better life for all through education, and to forge a path for the University to advance into the future. He is committed to lead Nanhua University to excel in academia, to ensure better health for all, and to further advocate the Three Acts of Goodness initiative. Moreover, Prof. Kao looks forward to the 30th Anniversary Celebrations of the founding of Nanhua University and the centennial anniversary of the birth of our founder, Venerable Master Hsing-Yun.
