Generative artificial intelligence (Generative AI) is rapidly transforming educational models. Nanhua University is actively driving the transformation of its smart campus by integrating a campus AI knowledge base, an intelligent career platform, high-performance AI computer labs, AR/VR immersive technologies, and smart robotics—comprehensively incorporating AI into teaching, research, administration, and campus services. This makes Nanhua one of the few universities in Taiwan to adopt an "on-premise generative AI" architecture. Through the University's internal platform, faculty and students can access multimodal generative AI language models without incurring additional token usage fees. While ensuring information security, personal data protection, and knowledge governance, this system fulfils the smart campus philosophy of: "keeping data on campus, operating AI on-site, and retaining knowledge at Nanhua."
The recently established "High-Performance GPU AI Computer Lab" supports courses such as large language models (LLMs), AI agents, generative AI, model training, and deployment. The Department of Architecture, the Department of Product and Interior Design, the Department of Visual Arts and Design, and the Department of Communication have already taken the lead in using this lab to offer AI-related courses, providing students with a transdisciplinary hands-on environment. The University is promoting an AI professional certification guidance program to help students obtain credentials such as the "Generative AI Proficiency Certification," the "iPAS AI Application Planner" certification, and the "EEC Enterprise Electronic AI Application Specialist" certification, and enhance students' practical AI capabilities and employment competitiveness.
