
Nanhua University was founded upon the principles of Humanistic Buddhism to realize Venerable Master Hsing-Yun’s educational goals of the "Three Acts of Goodness" and "Four Givings." The University actively nurture scholars from around the world to advance UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The "Malaysia Alumni Association" was recently established to bring together alumni in all walks of life scattered across the globe.
Nanhua University President Chin-Hsung Kao stated that as the University approaches its 30th anniversary in 2026, the "Malaysia Alumni Association" was finally established after nearly two years of preparation to consolidate the strength of outstanding alumni worldwide. Special thanks were extended to Jun-Hong Chai, the Association President, for leading over 200 alumni in attendance at the event. Several key figures including Venerable Chue-Cheng, Resident Abbess of Fo Guang Shan for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia; James Buu, Minister of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia; Wong Kim Hock, Vice President of the Malaysia Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities; Low Sheau Leng, President of the Taiwan Alumni Association of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor; and Pang Thou Chong, President of the Malaysia Talent Development and Industry-Academia Collaboration Association, witnessed the inauguration ceremony for the first board of directors and the unveiling of the association's offices.
