Nanhua University Holds Year-End Reunion Banquet for International Students, Welcoming the New Year with Warmth and Joy

As the year draws to a close and the Lunar New Year approaches, Nanhua University held a heartwarming "Year-End Reunion Banquet for International Students" on February 4th at the Fo Guang Shan Dalin Vihara for the students who have come from afar to study in Taiwan. Nanhua University President Chin-Hsung Kao attended in person to offer his blessings and hand out auspicious “Year of the Horse” red envelopes, which symbolizes a fresh start. The gathering allowed international students staying in Taiwan for the holidays to experience a vibrant traditional Lunar New Year with support from faculty members.

Nanhua University is currently home to approximately 200 overseas students from 17 different countries, turning the campus into a small global village. During the winter vacation, although most students return to their home countries to reunite with their families, some remain in Taiwan. The Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs, in collaboration with Fo Guang Shan, specially prepared a rich and diverse array of vegetarian dishes, blending Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Indian, and Western flavors to cater to the tastes of students from different countries.

The event also featured a nostalgic Taiwanese children's game, "Cuo Cuo Le," allowing students to experience traditional Taiwanese fun. The event was filled with laughter as the activity fostered deeper exchange and friendship among students from different nations.
