Nanhua University Hosts Campus Exploration Event, Guiding High School Students in Exploring Academic Departments and Future Career Blueprints
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Nanhua University held the "Students – Exploring Nanhua Campus and Academic Departments" event from January 22nd to January 23rd. High school students from across the country were invited to visit the campus. Over the two-day event, almost 2,200 teachers and students from 25 schools participated. Through a rich variety of activities including campus tours, department explorations, and hands-on workshops, participants gained an in-depth understanding of various academic departments and what university learning entails. The students also learned more about the different university admission options available to them, laying a solid foundation for their future academic and career planning.
To help senior high school students who have just taken their college entrance exams make their choice, Nanhua University arranged a seminar titled "Stop, Look, and Listen: Choosing the Correct University and Department." This seminar provided information and advice to prospective students on which academic field can cater for their interests and how to select a major. In addition, several departments had various interactive contents for students to experience firsthand, including an introduction to the Semiconductor Applications Program, a drone flight experience with the Department of Information Management, an MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) perfume-making experience with the Department of Natural Biotechnology, sports and health promotion experiences, and psychological exploration activities with the Department of Life-and-Death Studies. These activities allowed high school students to be immersed in real university learning environments through hands-on and challenge-based experiences.
Nanhua University President Chin-Hsung Kao stated that in the age of AI, cultivating interpersonal skills and a healthy, active lifestyle is more important than ever. He emphasized that the core of education lies not only in knowledge transfer but also in guiding students to understand themselves and explore different possibilities. Through this exploration event, high school students can, through firsthand experience, see the connection between university life, their personal aspirations, and their field of specialization, thereby allowing them to delve into the diverse options available for their future. In addition to its deep roots in life education, Nanhua University actively builds a learning environment with an international perspective, providing diverse overseas learning channels and overseas learning grants. Students can participate in exchange student programs, overseas courses and internships, and also pursue a 2+2 dual degree at University of the West in the United States, helping students to go global and expand their international competitiveness. At the same time, the University also offers various scholarships and grants to reduce students' financial burden. Furthermore, Nanhua University places great importance on integrating learning with application, actively guiding students to obtain professional certifications and participate in internships to ensure a seamless transition to their future workplace, thereby enhancing their future employability.
