Promoting Summer Oversea Off-campus Teaching Program, Providing Students with Oversea Learning

Series of activities of Nanhua University 18th anniversary grand began on March 21st. President, Tsong-Ming Lin presided the open ceremony and Abbot of Fo Guang Shan, vice president cum SupervisoryCouncil Master Hui Chuan represented the founder Venerable Master Hsing Yun to come and encourage teachers and students. Minister of Ministry of Examination Bau-Tscheng Dung, president of alumni associationWang Mei only, directors of ROC Buddha’s light association,a hundred of senior high school principals from different areas in Taiwan, industry and university cooperative companies, and international sister university Zhengzhou University department of music all came and joined this grand occasion and graced the open ceremony of 18th anniversary. Nanhua University especially chose that day to sign the cooperative association agreement with 100 senior high schools, and will cultivate excellent people together for country.

Nanhua University 18th anniversary planned a series of brilliant activities, and invited not only all walks of life, but also students from nearby high schools to participate, and there were about 800 high school students from 7 schools came to experience the busting atmosphere of university anniversary activities. On that Day, the activity started first is the king of Chinese drums’ competition—drum art competition, joined teams came from elementary students from all over Taiwan, there are 15 teams in group and 20 participants in individuals to compete the honor of this year of the king of Chinese drums. The competition every year has already become a tradition of Nanhua University’s anniversary and one of the important activities as well. This year the university even first created to sign the cooperative association agreement with 100 senior high schools, and will provide students with the most perfect education environment and learning resource through sharing resources, connecting courses, teacher exchanging and other multiple ways.

President Tsong-Ming Lin indicates that in order to strengthen the interschool communication and cooperation with senior high school and encourage excellent students to study, the University especially form an alliance with senior high schools, hope that by establishing this resource sharing platform, and let students have abundant and multiple learning resources. Moreover, in the future, the university can hold campus speeches, life education and life planning speeches, seminar and camps, visiting activities, university exhibitions, clubs exchanges and many more together with them, in order to improve education environment and enrich students’ learning. In this year’s anniversary, in addition to sign the cooperative association agreement with 100 senior high schools, the University also proceeded industry and university cooperation with 26 enterprises, hoping that through industry-university exchanging with enterprises, can provide students with a perfect internship platform, let students can connect with career smoothly and grow employment competitiveness. President Lin indicates that in addition to the policy that freshmen who enrolls in 2014 will pay the same amount of tuition as the one in national universities, providing students with oversea learning chances is also the university’s development point, besides obtaining the resource “Fo Guang Shan system University”, let students can, through 2+2 program, attend University of the West in America, Nan-Tien Institute in Australia and Bright University in Philippines to study and get two degrees, also, the university will take the advantage of summer and winter vacation and promote oversea off-campus teaching program. In this year’s summer vacation, the university predict about creating 3 oversea learning group, providing excellent freshmen who enroll in 2014 with studying abroad to University of Cambridge in UK, University of the west in America, and Nan-Tien Institute in Australia. The president had also mentioned that they have enroll enough students in the star program and the score of individual university admission have improved a lot, and very appreciate the support from board of directors and Venerable Master Hsing Yun and thank the effort of all teachers and students for letting the university have a good grade in running the university.

Hui Chuan Master, who represent the founder Venerable Master Hsing Yun to come and felicitate the University, approved the changes and promotion of Nanhua University during the speech, and appreciated the devotion that president Lin and all teachers, professors and students gave to the University, and indicates that president Lin only take up the post for 1,2 month and let the school reborn and become famous and set a new milestone, which is very hard.

Nanhua University anniversary activities, besides Chinese drums’ competition as every year and the tradition of the singing contest, there are many new activities created, especially the fashion show, specially invited senior high school students from Chaiyi area to participate together and thereby let high school students and college students interact. The food carnival is different from before, 55 stalls of all stalls is set by students from different departments, let students collect good ideas and create business opportunity, and learn how to establish a business and sell from it. The university view”Nine Lotus Boulevard” that is going to be finish will show on that day and let everyone admire the new and beautiful view, the splendid view let teachers, students and guests gasp in amazement.
