Nanhua University is established for 18 years, and has already cultivated about 14,000 alumni in Taiwan and overseas, this is full of talented people and outstanding people. In order to maintain the friendship with the alumni, the university held an activity called “alumni return university”, besides inviting alumni to come back to school and share their career, life experience and wisdom with underclassmen, this can also let alumni know the situation of their alma mater and can join the future development of the University actively. This year, the university especially held the selection of the 1st outstanding alumni and would announce the awarded 5 outstanding alumni publicly and praise them in the open ceremony of the anniversary.
Nanhua University President Tsong-Ming Lin indicates that alumni are an important property of university development and inheritance. No matter is the expansion of industry and university cooperation model or the advice for the operation of each department, alumni all contribute so much. Therefore, the University and alumni should build a continuous and close relationship, and through holding the activity, the university promote the exchanging of feelings and experience between alumni, the successful experience of alumni even become the learning model of underclassmen.
Established for 18 years, like a teenager becoming an adult, is going to build a new milestone. This year, Nanhua University held the selection of outstanding alumni for the first time, the five awarded outstanding alumni are executive director of Vision Youth Action(VYA) Klaus Y. H. Ding, chairman of Chi-Ying Senior High School and Chih Ping Senior High School Wang Mei only, secretary-general of Taiwan association of Clinical Buddhist Studies王浴, General Manager of Nice Prince Hotel in Chiayi City曾慶欑, and 住持of Fo Guang Shan台北道場and executive director of公益信託星雲大師教育基金會覺元法師. The awarded alumni, when receiving the award, indicate that they all appreciate the cultivation of alma mater so much, and they will do their best to give alma mater some feedback in the future.
Each department would arrange meetings for teachers and students to chat together, alumni meetups, and sharing experience in Nanhua University’s activity “alumni return university”. The university especially feasts alumni in the Water Drop Teahouses in Pilgrim Dormitory, enjoy the vegetarian dishes that teachers, students, and all walks of life praised, and promote the activity for everyone to love the Earth. In order to welcome upperclassmen returning university, Feversdance club especially showed a perfect dance performance in the dining scene, it is very mirthful and hilarious.
President of alumni association indicates that the university has created a new aspect no matter in the hard and software, campus scenery or learning resources under one-year leading of President Lin , and also the university has grown and improved, hope that alumni can keep supporting alma mater, create nanhua miracle together.
In order to strengthen students’ ability of employment, Nanhua University care about uniting learning and application, and they devote to promote industry and university cooperation and internship counseling, in order to enable students to connect with career after graduating. On the day of this year’s anniversary, the university signed industry and university cooperation with 36 enterprises in Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan areas, to provide students with multiple internships chances to accumulate experiences, meanwhile cultivate perfect talented person for enterprises, hopes that this could create a triple win situation of student, university and enterprise.
President Lin indicates that the university not only promote the 3 good deeds internship employment prove, full-scale enterprise internship and strengthen industry and teachers’ cooperative teaching, but also open employment prove class, guide to get the professional certificate, required credit courses of employment aspect. The object is to promote students’ employment competitive strength in full scale.
When giving a speech during the anniversary open ceremony, Minister of Ministry of Examination Bau-Tscheng Dung indicates that the obsession of certificates in helpful to student seeking for job and promotion in the future. The reform of the examination system is associated with certificate system, let industry, government, and university can be closer.
