Nanhua university environmental vanguard for advancing Alishan carbon footprint investigation.

Nanhua University environmental vanguard was developed by Nature Biotechnology Department Dr. Jun-Hong Lin called composed of students who volunteer group. They are a group concerned about the environmental changes and environmental protection have dedicated student. The group with the cooperation of Mana Organic Life Association, during the summer vacation to Alishan Lok wild tribes of Organic Agriculture Carbon Footprint.

The team with the cooperation of Mana Organic Life Association, during the summer vacation to Alishan Leye tribal investigate local organic farming carbon footprint. Principal investigator tomatoes, coffee, corn, tea and Longxu dishes seasonal crop product life cycle and discussed oil and electricity, water and other resource consumption status, to calculate the agricultural raw materials, manufacturing, distribution, sale, use and disposal of recycling different stages of carbon emissions. Survey results will be published in mid-August 2013.

This group is the implementation of the Environmental Protection Agency in 2013 college youth vanguard of environmental protection and environmental pilot projects. Activities spindle is "sustainable agriculture, carbon footprint." All members are required to accept the volunteer training and passed ISO 14064, ISO14067 training in order to carry out agricultural carbon footprint inventory in the general community, Nanhua University, Alishan Leye tribes etc.

Nanhua University Environmental Pioneers captain Shu-Zhu Xu said that agriculture can promote natural ingredients combined with the concept of low-carbon, ensuring healthy food sources and reduce excessive processing, can ease the public's concerns about food safety, but also can contribute to dramatic changes in the environment do.

Mana Organic Life Association Miss Fangyi Chen said that the future will be the vanguard of Nanhua University environmental cooperation and make organic compost related research, effective use of food waste, but also makes for nature drawn from nature.

A variety of organic vegetables grown in the Alishan area of Mr. Zhi-Wei Tang said that human use of the earth's resources should be done environmental and ecological balance, rather than blindly plunder. Advisor Dr. Jun-Hong Lin said that this year's World Environment Day theme is "Think, Eat, Save," it is within the letter "ponder. after eating. austerity" concept. Current impact of climate change has caused a global food shortage, the EPA advises citizens on World Environment Day in the choice of ingredients, the possible use of local and seasonal ingredients in the top priority.

In this June, the Nanhua University of Natural Biotechnology department in Taiwan Earth Day "Earth Action Home" campaign to "Like Carbon! Nanhua University, low-carbon ingredients Leap" as the theme to promote local, seasonal ingredients, so get a student group contest outstanding award.

This activity gives students the opportunity through the implementation of the organic field, including assisting farmers weeding﹑planting crops﹑plowing and other processes to understand the operation of organic farming methods and agricultural product life cycle.
